Here is Hannah's skills video we had filmed for the college recruiting process. So far Hannah & I have sent out over 170 emails to college coaches, now that we have this video completed and online we get to send out the emails all over again.

This whole recruiting process has become all consuming for me. The whole thing is cutthroat. It is really hard to determine if you are doing too little, just enough, or too much. You don't want to do too little and miss an opportunity for your child and you don't want to do too much and spend too much because then you are just wasting your time and money. It is a fine line to walk and being a first time parent in this situation is a daunting task. Unfortunately the recruiting process for softball is more difficult in that the colleges will and have been verbally committing girls as early as the summer before their freshman year! (sports like football, baseball, tennis, etc. isn't until your junior year unless you are some prodigy) If you want to go to a Division 1 school you better be verbally committed by the end of your sophomore year or you aren't getting in to one! Thankfully Hannah has a good head on her shoulders. Her goal is to get as much of her education paid for as she possibly can even if that means a Division 2, NAIA, or JUCO (junior college) school is where she goes. Don't get me wrong, if UCLA, Florida State, UT, Alabama or any other Division 1 school knocked on her door she would readily accept but it isn't the end of the world for her if she doesn't go Division 1. Bottom line is that we are proud of her and she is having fun and working hard!
