She's a Home Run Hitter

Hannah and Brent go practice together several times a week in a addition to her regular team practices.  Over the past couple months, with Brent tweaking Hannah's swing and her hitting stronger and more efficiently, Brent kept telling her it wouldn't be long till she hit a ball out of the park.  Hannah being the pessimist like her mom didn't believe him.  On Sunday Hannah had to admit her dad was correct!

Our team was down two.  We had a runner on 2nd with 2 outs.  Hannah was up to bat with two strikes.  The ball was pitched and Hannah nailed the ball against the wind and it kept going, and going, and going and was out of the park with room to spare.  HOME RUN!!  Hannah tried looking cool like she does that all of the time but as she rounded third she had a Kool-Aid grin on her face!!!  For a travel/select softball player this is a moment every girl dreams of, it really is a rite of passage.

Talk about a proud parent moment.  You watch your child work so hard for something, put in hours of work a week, and see them still struggle, so when that hard work pays off it just melts your heart.  I am so proud of her and what a great Mother's Day gift to me!!!
