Puzzle

Larissa, who is 4 1/2 years old today, LOVES books and puzzles.  Her Aunt Dawn gave her a set of little books when she was just 4 months old and since then she goes to books or puzzles over any other toys.  Whenever we go anywhere she packs her purse with a few small books and I have to keep puzzle apps on my phone so she can play them.

For the last 18-months I have had a hard time finding her puzzles that aren't too easy for her.  The puzzles for ages 3+, 24 pieces, have been too easy for a long time and the 5+ ,50 piece puzzles have been too easy since Christmas, well before she turned four.

Dad, Larissa, and I went to Wal-Mart on Friday evening and of course we had to stop and check out the puzzle section.  We found a 6+, 150 piece, panoramic jigsaw puzzle.  I told Larissa I would buy it for her and I figured it would be way to difficult for her but that myself or her siblings could help her.

Of course as soon as we get home from the store she wants to do her puzzle.  Problem was that all her siblings were gone for the evening and Brent and I rented a movie to to watch.  I explained to her that she could get started on her puzzle but that if she needed help she would have to wait until the next day to finish it.

Larissa starting on the edge pieces at 8:58 p.m.
So we get Larissa settled at the table with her puzzle and we put in our movie.  About 45 mins later I realize that we hadn't heard one word from Larissa, which is a rare thing.  I turn around and she is just a working on her puzzle.  We finish our movie and Larissa is still just a working on her puzzle.
All done!!!

Larissa, very proud of herself, finished at 10:55 p.m.

Almost 2 hours later with ZERO help, Larissa finished her puzzle!!!  She was SO proud of herself and the rest of us were amazed!!!
