Mini Vacation

Hannah had her softball nationals in Dallas, Texas so we turned the five days of nationals into a little mini vacation.  It was just Brent, Hannah, and me that went the other kids stayed at home with Grandma.

On our way up to Dallas on Wednesday we stopped in Waco, Texas and saw the Dr. Pepper Museum.  There is no better drink in the world!
Out front of the museum with one of the old delivery trucks.  This is the kind of truck Brent would be driving way back!
The museum is in the original spot that Dr. Pepper was first served.  Hannah had a Dr. Pepper float from the original fountain and Brent and I both had sodas.  It tasted different than what you get anywhere else but was SO good.
Brent and I enjoying a Dr. Pepper from a real soda jerk.
Once we made it to Dallas the softball team had opening ceremonies at Ranger's Ballpark in Arlington.  I had to take a picture of this!
GO ANGELS!
Ranger's Ballpark is beautiful, it looks like an old building from the outside.

All of the softball teams were able to go on the field for opening ceremonies and meet the US All-Star Women's softball team.

On Friday our whole softball team and their parents were able to go see a Ranger's game and guess who they were playing?  The Angels!!!  Brent and I volunteered to go to the stadium to pick up the tickets for everyone.  After we picked up the tickets from the stadium we met up with one of my very good friends from high school, Kevin.  I hadn't seen Kevin since I graduated in '98.  He moved to Fort Worth to attend college after high school and never went back to California.  It was really neat meeting him and his sweet wife.

After hanging out with Kevin for awhile we went back to Ranger's Ballpark for the game.

It was a lot of fun seeing the Angel's play in another stadium even if they did lose.

Saturday and Sunday was spent watching the girls play 7 games and earning 2nd place.  We had a late and long drive home on Sunday after being in the sun all day.

Hopefully next year will be a full family vacation and to Disney World!
