The Longest Week Ever & Turning 29

Last week was a horrible, no good rotten bad week (day). That line from a children's story kept going through my mind all week.
As many of you know our family (Emmons') has had a very stressful time and our escape is going to the river and relaxing and enjoying each other. Memorial weekend was our first trip in 9-months so we all were looking forward to it, it was actually all that the 11 of us had been talking about for weeks.
Last Wednesday I spent the first half of the day with my mom, we ran some errands to get ready for the upcoming weekend. When mom dropped me off at 1:30 that afternoon she said she was feeling sick and was going to go lay down before she had to pick my sister Grace up from school.
At 4:12 pm I get a phone call from Grace saying that something was wrong with mom so I ran up to the house and sure enough something was very wrong. I called 911 and road in the ambulance with her to the county hospital. Mom spent Wednesday to Saturday in the hospital being poked and prodded and when she was finally discharged she had no diagnosis but some new meds. Talk about stressful. That last half of the week is pretty much a blur for all of us.
I do want to thank all of our family and friends for their support. Knowing that so many people were praying for my mom and were so willing to drop what they were doing and help out made such a huge difference for our family.
Because of my mom's health scare her and Dad were not able to go to the lake with us but we still went and enjoyed our time together, although it wasn't quite the same without Mom, Dad, and Ramius. Here are some pictures from our weekend in Laughlin.

Kirstine wakeboarding. She stood right up like it hadn't been all winter since she last went.

Brent wakeboarding. Hannah wakeboarding. This was her very first time getting up ever!
Larissa playing in the river.
The kids relaxing in the boat.

Grace wakeboarding.
Brent, Tahnee, and Grace after a crazy raft ride! Notice the look on their faces!

Tuesday morning, my 29th birthday, we got up and headed home. Brent had to run off to work but the rest of us went to Disneyland for my birthday and so I could get my $70 gift card. The kids all made me birthday cards and Seth included 50 cents of his own money in his card to me. That is a lot when you only have a couple dollars. My parents paid for me to get my hair cut and colored last Thursday as their gift to me! There is a small picture of my new hair to the right on my Facebook "badge". Can't believe this is my last year being in my 20's!!!
