r Diamond Girls took 2nd place out of 15 teams Sunday night! Our team lost 1-2 in an international tie breaker! We faced teams from all over, they came from North Ridge, Laguna Niguel, Upland, Moreno Valley, and everywhere in between. We have a great team, every girl is very dedicated and very good! Most of the girls have been playing together since this summer when they competed in Corona at district finals.
Our tournament this weekend started Friday night and Hannah ended up playing her cousin's team from Orange County, that was cool. We tied that team 0-0. We had another close game against North Ridge Saturday evening but won that qualifying us for 1st place in bracket play on Sunday.
Sunday the girls had to be in Chino Hills at 10am for warm-ups for our game at 11:20. Bracket play was set-up so that if you lost one game you went home. The girls won their first game 15 - 1 then had a 45 min break till their next game. Thankfully we won our next two games with only 15 minute breaks in between, talk about a long day for a bunch of 8 and 9 year olds. During our 3rd game of the evening it poured rain for 30 minutes but the girls just kept on playing... not complaining.
The championship game was against Upland/Rancho Cucamonga/Ontario, an All-
Star team formed from the best players from those three city leagues. The game was extremely close and ended in an international tie breaker 1-2.

We are so proud of our girls, none of us thought they would make it as far as they did. There were 3 other Diamond Girl teams at the tournament in the older divisions but we were the only team that went home with a trophy! Congrats Girls!
Thank you Aunt Jenny, Cousin Alex, Aunt Grace, Grandma Susan, Grandpa Steve, & Aunt Tahnee for coming and showing your support. It means a lot to Hannah to have her own cheering section.
Next weekend we get to do it all again at the Riverside Dynasty Toys for Tots Tournament. Hopefully we can do just as well!
