Kirstine's First Concert

In 6th grade every student is required to pick a musical instrument and learn how to play it over the school year.  I think this is a wonderful way for children to experience something they might not have tried otherwise.  Kirstine chose to learn how to play the flute this year.


Last night our town had their annual Christmas party in the town square and the 6th grade band was the opening act for the evening.  Kirstine was SO nervous, performing in front of others is not something she enjoys.  I was very proud of her though because she toughened up and did what she needed to do.

Total concentration, their first song was Jingle Bells.

I would love it if she would stick with the flute through Jr. High and High School, we'll see though.
